Duke University PREP
Duke University's Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP)
Duke University's Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) is geared toward underrepresented minorities who have completed their bachelor's degree within the last three years and who are US citizens or permanent residents. PREP is designed for motivated students who wish to obtain more experience and preparation before entering a Ph.D. graduate program. Duke PREP scholars will engage in one or two years of intensive research experience, along with formal course work and other development activities such as GRE preparation courses and public presentations. PREP scholars work on a research project under the supervision of an experienced Duke faculty mentor, in a laboratory with Ph.D. graduate students and/or postdoctoral fellows. While the PREP program currently operates on a rolling admissions basis throughout the year, most students find it helpful to start in the Fall along with the normal university schedule.
