For college juniors or seniors interested in pursuing a PhD in Social, Behavioral, or Economical Sciences, USC's Program takes place in the fall and introduces students to the graduate school environment.  EDGE-SBE will cover travel and lodging expenses. 

Workshop(s)

American Educational Research Association (AERA)
Undergraduate Student Education Research Training Workshop

Offered during the AERA Annual Meeting, this workshop is intended to increase the talent pool of undergraduate students who plan to pursue doctorate degrees in education research or in disciplines and fields that examine education issues. The workshop will focus on applying to graduate school, pursuing graduate education, and education research as a field. Awardees will be provided with mentoring support from senior and early career scholars. 

The Institute for the Recruitment of Teachers (IRT)

Intern Summer Workshop
For rising and graduating college seniors, the IRT Summer Workshop in Andover, Massachusetts helps students sharpen their writing, speaking, and critical analysis skills in preparation for graduate school.  This program features interviews with graduate school deans and waiver of application fees to 42 top graduate schools.

Associate Program
For rising college seniors and graduates who do not/cannot participate in the Summer Workshop, the IRT Associate Program assists students with the graduate school application process. 

Social Science Research Council - Mellon Mays Graduate Initiatives

Summer Conference
For graduating seniors, SSRC's Summer Conference includes presentations and other activities that socialize fellows into the early years of doctoral training and into the national Mellon Mays community.
