The provisions in this Policy relating to the collection, use and disclosure of information also apply to any information that the Foundation receives about MMUF fellows from the Social Science Research Council (“SSRC”) (as further described below) in connection with the SSRC’s administration of the Mellon Mays Graduate Initiatives Program in the same manner as if such information were collected through this Site.
This Policy may be updated by the Foundation at any time. We will post notice of any material amendments on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after any such modifications shall constitute your acceptance of this Policy as modified. We will not, however, without your consent, use your previously collected Personally Identifiable Information (defined below) in a manner materially different than represented at the time it was collected.
If you do not agree to this Policy for any reason, please do not use the Site.

By providing your information through the Site, you consent to our using and sharing your information as described in this Policy.
This Site is not directed to individuals under age 13.
INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE
Through your use of the Site, we may collect information you provide to us that identifies you or can be used to identify you (“Personally Identifiable Information”). This may include, for example, information you choose to submit via email, through links on the Site. For participants in the MMUF program, this may include the following types of information, among any other information you submit: your name; contact information such as address, email address, and telephone number; educational and employment information; standardized test scores, grade point average, and other academic information; information regarding payment for education, such as student loans, financial aid, and scholarships; demographic information such as date of birth, gender, ethnicity, and country of birth; citizenship information; and user account and password.
We may use certain Personally Identifiable Information we collect about you when you visit and browse the Site, or which you provide through the Site, as part of our normal operations, including to administer the MMUF program.
In addition to information you provide to us, we may collect information about you through technology when you visit the Site. The Foundation will collect some information automatically from your visit to the Site through the use of “cookies” and other electronic tracking methods. Cookies are small text files that are stored in your computer’s memory and hard drive when you visit certain web pages. Cookies are used primarily for administrative purposes, and help the Foundation understand how people are using the Site, which assists in managing and improving the Site. The Foundation may collect your internet protocol address, the browser and type of machine you are using, the websites that you visit immediately before and after the Site, and the pages of the Site you visit. We may collect the information from use of these technical methods in a form that is personally identifiable. If we use such data at all, it will be on an aggregate basis.

TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES AND DO NOT TRACK
Various third parties are developing or have developed signals or other mechanisms for the expression of consumer choice regarding the collection of information about an individual consumer’s online activities over time and across third-party websites or online services (e.g., browser do not track signals). Currently, we do not monitor or take any action with respect to these signals or other mechanisms.
The Foundation does not sell, rent, or otherwise share your Personally Identifiable Information to any non-affiliated third party, except as described herein. We may use or disclose certain of your Personally Identifiable Information as part of our normal business operations. We may share Personally Identifiable Information with service providers to facilitate our services, platform functions, or for purposes of administering the MMUF programs. Non-affiliated organizations and individuals that provide services to the Foundation in connection with this Site are subject to confidentiality requirements with respect to confidential information they receive from us. We may associate your Personally Identifiable Information with other information we collect about you, such as details about your usage patterns and interests, but we will not sell or disclose such other information to third parties except as otherwise described herein.
With respect to MMUF fellows, in addition to the disclosures above, we may share your information, including Personally Identifiable Information, with others in connection with administration of the MMUF and related programs. For example, we may share your information, including Personally Identifiable Information, with the SSRC for purposes of its administration of the Mellon Mays Graduate Initiatives Program. We may also share your contact information with the national MMUF community and with colleges and universities seeking candidates for faculty positions. We may also share your information, including Personally Identifiable Information, with researchers in furtherance of the purposes of the MMUF program; however, such researchers will be limited to disclosing such information in the aggregate unless you give permission otherwise. We may use or disclose your information in additional ways with your specific permission.
No data transmission over the Internet can be 100% secure; therefore, the Foundation cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information submitted on or to the Site. We do, however, endeavor to protect your Personally Identifiable Information against unauthorized use or disclosure by using technical, administrative, and physical methods, including firewalls.
This Site is operated and controlled by the Foundation in the United States, and MMUF program’s databases are located in the United States. By using this Site, you consent to the transfer of data to, and its storage in, the United States. Those who access the Site from outside the United States are responsible for compliance with local laws, rules, and regulations.
