MMUF PhD Geraldo Cadava wins 2014 Frederick Jackson Turner Prize

MMUF PhD Geraldo Cadava (Dartmouth '04) has been awarded the Organization of American Historians' Frederick Jackson Turner Award for 2014 for his first book, Common Ground: The Making of the Sunbelt Borderland (published last year by Harvard University Press). The OAH awards the Turner Award to first books published by scholars of American history.

Geraldo, who is currently Assistant Professor of History at Northwestern University, was originally selected for MMUF as an undergraduate at Dartmouth College and earned his PhD from Yale University in 2008; Common Ground is based on his doctoral thesis. Congratulations, Geraldo!
